MY EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

I am a Chartered Educational Psychologist, based in North London, with over 20 to 25 years of experience of working in Local Authorities, including as a Senior EP for over 10 years. I have worked as a Senior Educational Psychologist in a London Authority.

I continue to regularly contribute psychological advice towards statutory assessments, reassessments and Annual Reviews. As a Senior EP, I attended Local Authority decision making meetings, including Special Educational Needs and Disability Panels, Special Schools Panels and Early Years Inclusion Panels and Tribunal Planning Meetings. I have appeared as an Expert Witness at SEND Tribunals and supported others in the EP Team to do the same. Like many SEN Advocates, I have completed the IPSEA law courses (Levels 1-3).

I regularly visit a range of settings, including nurseries, mainstream and special schools to assess children’s learning and to plan interventions for children with parents and staff. I contribute psychological advice towards statutory assessments, attend Local Authority decision making panels, including Special Educational Needs and Disability Panels, Special Schools Panels  and Early Years Inclusion Panels, and have appeared as an Expert Witness at SEND Tribunals.

I am a Chartered Psychologist and I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council. I have an enhanced DBS check. Having taught here and abroad for several years earlier in my career, I obtained a MSc in Educational Psychology from the Tavistock Clinic, London in 1997. I have subsequently worked for 2 Local Authorities alongside working in private practice. I have experience with both state and private education having taught and delivered services to both.

Lastly, I am a mother to 2 children, one in primary and one in secondary school, and I am also a stepmother to 3 young adults. Many of the concerns that you may have are familiar to me both in a professional and personal capacity.

I work in North London in a homely environment. I can visit homes and schools within a reasonable distance to my home.

Should you have further questions about the assessment, please do get in touch. I look forward to discussing your queries and to thinking together about the concerns you may have about your child’s learning and development.
